One Street 2
Cold Bath Road is about a mile long from bottom to top and very much a residential area. Walking up from the Swan Hotel there are several small side roads of Victorian terrace houses of different sizes and design built originally to provide homes, guest houses and small hotels to house the visitors to the town and the people working in the town.
Western Primary School is a three storey Victorian building founded in 1897 currently with nearly 500 pupils between 3 - 11. Larger than average and is over subscribed because of its popularity. The majority of children are white British, but there are pupils with Polish and Mandarin as their first language.
School reports have been very good, including having a 0% unauthorised absence rate and a British School Council International School Award in recognition of the 'work to instil a global dimension into its pupils' learning experience'.
I took the shot early this morning before the children started arriving. Best to avoid the flood of children walking to school with Mums/Dads, buggies, scooters etc!
