Lifting the Wires
Today was hot and windy again. I walk alongside some vineyards whilst out walking the dogs on the Upper Taylor Track. It seemed much too hot today for the vineyard workers who were busy lifting the wires in the Meadowbank vineyard. However Tarik was dressed for the job, flexing his muscles and improving his lovely suntan. The wires are gradually lifted upwards as the vines grow and thus keep the growth nice and tidy and compact. Otherwise the vines would run riot like triffids and make operating machinery between the rows impossible. I enjoy keeping an eye on our vineyards through all the seasons and from one vintage to the next.
