Seaside
I must go down to the sea again
The lonely sea and sky
I left my shoes and socks there
I wonder if they are dry?
Ah feck, the tides come in.
The faint angular shape in the sea is the wall of a saltwater lido, the water is refreshed at high tide and retained as the tide goes out. There used to be lots of them around the East coast but they have all fallen out of favour and most are in a poor state of repair. Which is a shame because I loved those summer days larking about in the Steprock pool in St Andrews in the seventies.
