Official birthday portrait

Flora is one today (or possibly yesterday ...). Because the four year old, who is always party-ready, is here Happy Birthday dear Flora has been sung several times. A birthday 'cake' of left over porridge and dog biscuits has been presented and consumed. Flora's Borrow my Doggy pals gave her two new squeaky balls and are taking her out for a special walk this morning.

What a lot of fun, and additional exercise, Flora has provided. Despite all the hard work of socialising and training a puppy I'm very glad we got her. Since poor old Otter died she's come into her own and on the whole is a really great companion. She still has her naughty and willful moments but she is only one after all.

I'm adding an extra of the first time we met Flora when she was two weeks old. She is sleeping in Cameraman's hand and looks like a guinea pig!

Another beautiful autumn day has broken. We had an early start with a slightly upset four year old so the day got going smartly. It's Community Council tonight and a meeting prior to that starts at 5:30pm so I have some prep to do and it'll be a late one for me.
