Just for the day!!

A trip to Edinburgh was a request for this week, as she had not been since she was a very small child and did not remember it at all. So off we set this morning on the train from Carlisle. A bit of rain and some sunshine and not many people, so all was fine. We wandered along Prince's Street and pointed out the landmarks. However, thirteen year olds are not that interested in sight-seeing, just being in Edinburgh and Scotland was enough of an experience, apparently. In the picture she had been been taking photos of the castle and the beautiful colours of the trees, but the main thing was to tell her friend that she was in Scotland 'for the day' - something I suppose someone living in Kent would think was amazing. 

We had a 'proper grown up' lunch  at Fishers in the City, before wandering back to the station via a few places. 

And the extra photo shows me just why I spend so much time printing out photos and keeping a record, as I have done for many, many years.
