DAY FIVE: Harriet Tubman Museum
Dear Diary,
What an amazing day! It poured rain in the morning, high winds too, but we were headed out to the Harriet Tubman Museum in Cambridge so no problem. It is located quite a distance from town on the edge of the Black Water National Wildlife Peserve and on the original land holdings of the farm where Harriet was enslaved. It was so beautifully done with a wonderful film to start. Speaking of films, “Harriet”, the movie on her life, premiered here last Monday night and will open to the public this Friday. I plan to see it when I return home. The main photo is of the marvelous Harriet Tubman mural in town.
By the time we were ready to leave the museum, the sun had come out and it was another beautiful day so we headed to the nature preserve. What a wonderful place! I was able to photograph a bald eagle, herons, terns, egrets, turtles, and even a snake. My extra is of the view from the top of the Visitor’s Center and some of the wildlife I saw.
