I threw seeds in in August  in an empty spot in the front flower bed. It was a last minute decision and by the time Oct rolled around I assumed I would not have flowers this year. Surprise! The 3-4 foot green green plants all blossomed at once the 3rd week of October. The bees are quite happy  to have some still blooming flowers around.
