Floods again

This wasn’t the day we planned. We set off to go to Kent to see our family there. Mr M was worried about the torrential rain. We got half way along the Alderley bypass and suddenly came to to a Road closed sign, due to flooding. There was no warning as you turned into the road. We carried on by another very wet route but it got really bad. We were passing some friends’ house so we called in and begged a cup of tea off them. We decided it was too dangerous to carry on and turned back. We were nearly home when we came to another very deep flood on the new road to the airport. The white car in the photo was directly in front of us and stopped after driving through the flood. We were very lucky that our car made it. They closed the road 5 minutes later. I read this morning that the M6 was stationary due to a mudslide is it’s a good job we turned back. It was disappointing not to see the family though.
