Virgin territory for me today. A first time visit to Rouken Glen Park on the outskirts of Glasgow.
Shame on me for never, ever having been here before!
Terrific few hours exploring so expect a few blip photos over the next few days of this outstanding place.
The boating pond is magnificent and this image is of a model sail boat that was being put through its paces when we were there.
A bit of drama involved too. A young lad who was keen to use his own model boat put the vessel into the water and let it drift out. Unfortunately he hadn't flipped the power switch so was unable to use the remote control to guide it.
To the rescue came the owner of Bandit and another enthusiast who between them managed to nudge the bot's boat back to shore.
Impressive stuff! Ach, you had to have been there to appreciate the skill involved.
Bandit - the blip image - to my surprise was not powered at all by an on board motor. The said are its only source of energy with the rudder controlled remotely. Fascinating.
I'm please too at how well my 55-210mm lens operates with the A6500.
It's a lens that is much derided by 'those in the know' but I've always found it decent. Not professional quality, but good value for the money.
