it's been a black & white kind of day.

reading:  Touched by the Sun  by Carly Simon
now this is Booker Prize worthy writing.
i was expecting a gossipy bit of nonsense, 
but Ms Simon writes beautifully.

having read on and off through most of the night,
i have to amend my comments on the Carly Simon book. the first couple of chapters were beautifully written, but it continues with lists of her famous chums, dinner parties on Martha's Vineyard, and bigging up her friendship with Jackie Kennedy. So having anticipated a 5* read, i am demoting it to 2*!
