But not today.

The saga of the broken roof window continues;  the long ladder arrives - it's long enough - (see extra).  Yay.

I thought that removing the window to get the ladder in would be straight forward - a few screws.  But no. Nothing is straight forward these days.  It takes over an hour to remove the window.  It involves a hammer and chisel and much cursing.  And a broken window frame - (see 2nd extra).  

It takes about 10 minutes to climb up the ladder, inspect and remove the faulty motor.  They'll have to order a new one.  Of course.  And they'll also have to order the parts for a new window frame.  

At least the roof window is shut and the house is a bit warmer.
