Pen-y-Ghent

We celebrated Tony's birthday by a walk up Pen-y-Ghent today, one of Yorkshire's three peaks. The valleys were in mist all day and it was indeed very cold when we set off from Horton-in-Ribblesdale. However, half an hour into the ascent and we were above the inversion and into sunshine and blue sky, lovely day!

My blip is of Tony on the summit enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of delicious chocolate birthday cake baked by our Jen! Behind him, beneath the inversion, is Ribblesdale.
