Another trip into town - this time by train. As we are both of a certain age, we can get free transport into the city and back again from 9 am to 3.30 pm: it's great because the station is at the bottom of our street, just catch the train in and back home again. No hassle with car parks and traffic.
So the reason was for another city trip so we could walk up North Terrace to the Museum to see the ANZANG Nature Photo Exhibition - the Australian version of the one we saw in London a few months ago.
This little building is the Adelaide Club. To become a member, you must be male and a member of the establishment. It may well be that they allow lady members these days, but there is a Queen Adelaide Club just up the street for ladies.
When we first came to Australia some 50 odd years ago, this was an imposing building, and considered grand. I suppose it still is, in an Adelaide sort of way, but it is now dwarfed by high rise office blocks.
We also called into see an old friend who runs an antiquarian bookshop. I picked up a copy of Roger Verge's Cuisine of the Sun, and much to my surprise discovered that it was my own original copy personally signed to me by Monsieur Verge himself. (Long story short - I worked in a bookshop and organised a book signing and reception event for Monsieur Verge when he launched the book in Australia).
