Reed boats, Lake Titicaca, Peru

These traditional boats are made from reeds which grow in Lake Titicaca.  The reeds are also used to build islands the locals live on (seriously) and the houses on those islands.  They also eat the reeds.  Pretty useful reeds.

The boats these days are strictly for the tourists.
