Making the most of the available light
"Don't worry so much
Can you see the stars that are assembled?
When you held love tight remember how it trembled?
So soft to the touch
Don't hurry so much
It will come as sure as we are bleeding
Let's groove before the vultures start feeding
Don't worry so much
Let it all out, let it all in, let it out'
And go easy on yourself
That's what I'd do
I'd go easy on myself
If I were you
I'd go easy on myself
Sister try and breathe
Breathe
Killing the tumor
We're killing the tumor
While it's still a rumor
Let it all out, Let it all in, let it all out'
Don't worry so much
Don't hurry so much
Soon the maple leaves will be turning
Red leaves and autumn winds will keep us yearning
Don't worry so much
Breathe"
Willy Porter ~ Breathe
This evening has been spent watching the truly great Willy Porter perform at Bath's Chapel Arts Centre. He's an incredible talent, he writes songs with lyrics that mean something, sings brilliantly and plays acoustic guitar at level which few can match. If you think that might be hyperbole on my part check out the link. The piece is in 11/8 time, as Willy's friend told him back when he was trying to learn to play like this "11/8 will set you free". I'm not so sure about that myself, I think I could spend a long time imprisoned in trying to play like that(!)
Despite all of that he really does seem to be a very humble and truly grounded individual. I only wish more people had been exposed to his music.
He also has hands with fingers that look like spiders and a grip that is stronger than some fence erectors that I have met. :-)
I was accompanied by Cathy, Incredibish and my sister Janet and a truly wonderful evening was had by all.
