Drawing the fire!
I was out with the Intermediate Walkers today. Cliff lead us on a beautiful route from Catton. We had riverside paths, woods and fields. It was quite an easy route, but I managed to fall - splat - flat on my front in a very muddy field. It's my first fall since Arth's operation and it had to happen sometime.
I was a very muddy mess. I also could not get up because my boots had no traction on the mud. I'm glad to say that I was lifted up and helped to mop up the mess. Arth is in a huff and has swelled up, but it's nothing serious.
We came upon a shooting party during the walk. It was very noisy and we were rather close for comfort. Henry wore his feather with pride and said he was drawing the fire. Since he was in the middle of the group, this was not much comfort.
I dashed to Hexham to do a bit of food shopping ready for an important visitor tomorrow.
Both bathrooms are still in the process of being decorated. As Julie says, "as long as you have a loo that flushes....."!
Tonight Julie, David, Moira and I went to see a play called "It's True, It's True, It's True" at the Live Theatre.
From the Live's publicity:
The 1612 trial of Agostino Tassi for the rape of baroque painter Artemisia Gentileschi is restaged by Fringe First and The Stage Edinburgh Award-winning company, Breach Theatre.
Based on surviving court transcripts, this new play dramatises the seven-month trial that gripped Renaissance Rome and asks how much has changed in the last four centuries.
Blending myth, history and contemporary commentary, this is the story of how a woman took revenge through her art to become one of the most successful painters of her generation.
I thought that the play worked up to a point, but lost its focus near the end. There was no post show discussion - I would have liked that.
