Neep

Had a rather disturbed night's sleep so decided not to overdo it today - just went up to the allotment. The little blighters are still quite wary of the new feeder, which may well be squirrel/rat proof but has a slightly worrying little tunnel sort of arrangement that you have to stick your head in to get some seed. Poor visibility vis a vis cats/sparrowhawks/humans, etc. They'll figure it out.

Just as I was leaving I was alarmed to see a giant neep poking up above soil level. Haven't even quite finished the last (award-winning!) one.... This blighter is probably 1.5 kilos at least. I'm all for locally grown produce, and am prepared to embrace austerity, but jeez.....
