Le Rouge et le Noir

"The Red and the Black" is a well-known classical story written in 1830 by French writer Stendhal. I studied this book, among other classics, when I went to a French school after leaving school in England.

As soon as I saw this store decoration downtown, I thought of the book because of the dramatic colour scheme!

Of course, most shops have put up their Christmas decorations, so I avoided  decorated trees and Father Christmas, but thought these big red hearts and the suitably attired outfits rather eye-catching and smart!
