Girl with the Yellow Umbrella
It was a 'ladies who coffee' morning today, and time to catch up with old neighbours, with the old referring to their being erstwhile neighbours rather than to their ages, which are considerably younger than this Lady .
We originally met at the school gates when our children were 5, thirty years ago, and while only two of these children keep in touch, we meet at birthdays to exchange news.
It was a very genteel and civilised gathering as befits ladies of the Grange, in a house near the old castle and just a stone's throw from the most expensive street of houses in Scotland, as noted in a National newspaper last week.
The statistics for this piece of journalistic information are of course very suspect, but nevertheless caused us much mirth.
The walk back home through an all pervading mist of light rain, with Arthur's Seat obscured by low cloud provided me with the only passable blip for the day.
