The Cold Gust of Wind

Bill Evans - My Foolish Heart

The wind was cold today. Sweeping through Nagoya station across the sea of people, my eyes blurred into a flurry of tiredness and overwhelming despair. The despair wasn't particularly powerful, but they always are when they resonate after time; a penetrating sonical wave that moves you after the first domino is pushed. Things become completely miniscule when juxtaposed with the greater good of the greater good and people are blurred into obscurity only confirming the insignificant nature of "the self".

Seeing people the way they were only magnified the non-figurative sense of nothingness. We all went on about our lives without a jot of concern for others, or so it seems. My foolish heart dreaming the arrogant dream of rising above that sea. It's truly insignificant and indeed foolish. It will all fade into the unknown and through the filters of translation.
