Cumbria Here I Come

By marpaul

A walk at Ulswater today starting from Pooley Bridge.  There's a new free temporary car park nearby, so managed to get a space and walked into Pooley Bridge across the new temporary pedestrian bridge.  It was interesting to watch progress on the new bridge and I hadn't realised its going to be stainless steel.  Can't remember now if it will be the first in the UK or the world!  Lots of Greylag geese in the lake, so spent some time watching them coming and going and listening to them.  Another in extras of them landing.

Ooh and before our walk I went back to the tea room at Aira Force where I was last week with friends, to ask if my dog lead had been handed in.  I was very very surprised and extremely happy when indeed it had.  I hadn't realised until I lost it just how much it meant to me.  Its a link to the past and it could tell lots of interesting stories.  That's me being sentimental :)
