Alerte orange

The weather forecast warned of an orange weather alert due to an 'episode Mediterranéen.'  This is a monsoon type of meteorological event whereby heavy, thundery, localised rain patterns persist for 12 to 36 hours.  Such events can cause dangerous flooding as in the Aude valley last year when there were villages destroyed and deaths.  Today we are in the middle of such an episode and the clouds have come down upon the village.  I got some jobs done in the morning and had a meeting up at the Mairie followed by a visit to a friend's B and B to have coffee and a tour of an impressive art collection.
