The Sunset Photographer

On the day of a 300-mile grand tour of South Wales.

Proud of my youngest. Because of living in London and then travelling, Roam had missed out on learning how to drive until this summer. He only had his first lesson a few months ago and has just passed his test. He was keen to take me and Shenny on a road trip. It seemed like a good idea to get some serious road miles under his belt before he disappears again.

We went with the flow, early rain and low cloud deterring us from the original plan of walking high in the Brecon Beacons. We found some spectacular mountain roads and an incredible patch of fairytale forest where every branch and twig was was dripping with moss. The south and west looked sunnier so we headed in that direction, ending up on the Gower for a spectacular sunset.

It was great to see how Roam has a similar love for photography as myself and willing to stop anywhere, at any time for a photo opportunity. He's his father's son in so many ways, although - thankfully - not in all.

By the way, this is not Roam. This is a random photographer who just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
