Dwarf kowhai - Sophora Prostrata

I have 3 of these at the front. I kept them from the original landscaping. Showing them love with the occasional love bucket of seaweed tea is worth it.

Unlike the larger versions of kowhai, sophora prostrata has a small hidden flower. Mine are so hidden I haven't seen any yet. Maybe they'll surprise me in late spring.

I've become fond of their dense, tangled wiry foliage. The native kowhai caterpillar almost completely stripped them in autumn. They're tough and hardy, not only of dry, cold, and heat apparently.

Today's gratitude: For coming to the end of my course of antibiotics. I appreciate what they've done but it's been rough.
