Comino

Snorkelling was the order of the day and we joined a day trip with "Oh Yeah Cruises" from Ghadira Bay and about 30 or so others of all nationalities. After some nifty navigating into the mouths of caves and arches on the east side of the tiny Comino island, the boat dumped us at the so called 'Blue Lagoon'.

I had previously seen a video on YouTube of this place, so knew what to expect, but the others didn't. 'Spoiled' would be a way to describe it, but we were also contributors. We managed to wander along the coastline away from the masses and found a reasonable entry point off some rocks.

Afterwards, we headed across the island to visit the Comino Tower, built by the Knights of St John and returned to the boat for the next part of the day. We sailed round to the 'Crystal Lagoon' where we were permitted to jump from the boat and swim into the 'Popeye Cave'. After an hour, the boat's horn sounded and anchor lifted for the whizz back to Ghadira Bay.

The pic is the view from the roof of the Comino Tower, looking over both 'lagoons' with Gozo in the background.
