Fascinating
MrsDroog and I are in Louisville, Kentucky for a conference. It's good to be back among long missed friends.
Louisville is a very friendly place. I was wearing my British Army Veterans hat when we arrived and the locals keep thanking me for my service despite my not being American.
This morning I helped set up the Global Corner, where universities from around the world set out their stall. There is also a map on which attenders can mark their home institutions.
The conference reception takes place this evening (I can't go because I am an irregular, so I am back in the hotel room, drinking cold beer, watching football and doing MrsDroog's ironing) and the ladies are wearing fascinators, something they usually only do for weddings and the Kentucky Derby, and very lovely they look. I managed to buy one for MrsDroog, so she will be dressed appropriately.
Tomorrow is the big day...
