Fuligo septica

Well here I am dismantling what’s left of the old garden shed to make room for one that’s got some wood left in it and just after putting my foot through the floor, I noticed this.
Not really sure whether we were growing fungus or coral here (yes it’s almost that wet), I showed it to Ann and it seems one of her Instagram friends has just googled ‘fungus that looks like scrambled egg’ and posted his picture, which is remarkably similar
Seems it’s actually a slime mould rather than a fungus, but we won’t hold that against it.
