Fire at Ashland Apartments

Cutline:
A firefighter comes out of a smoldering apartment building at the intersection of Ashland and Hospital streets. Hours after the first flame, firefighters were still trying to subdue the smoke.

Comment:
I fell off the blip wagon. I consider it a miracle that I blipped again because I have this extreme perfectionist all-or-nothing personality where I think, "oh well, I missed a day, now the whole thing is messed up, it's no use!" I guess all I can do is start from TODAY and try to not miss a day again. I'm still learning this concept.

I heard about the fire on the police scanner in the newsroom. They were going to send me out to report on it (not photograph it), but unfortunately I was TRAPPED under deadline working on a story about the library. It took an hour to get someone to edit me, and by the time I raced to the scene, the fire was out and craze was over, and cops had baracaded the place. I snuck in, but it was no help. But I commend myself on my first attempt at spot news.

Plus, I like the smokey afternoon light in the leaves.
