The C word has been making its presence felt in all the shops for a while now, and C crap is interspersed with Halloween stuff. The tackiest merchandise is to be found in the many Chinese emporia. My friend Patri refuses to shop in those as she claims the goods explode (I think she means only electrical goods but who knows?)
