Phill's white stick

This is Phill's white stick, he sees very little and when he goes up to play the drums at our church in England someone has to lead him so he doesn't collide with amplification equipment.... so it was a somewhat bizarre experience for me today to see that he'd abandoned his stick and was wheelbarrowing loads of stones down from our hillside and delivering them to the door of the building where I'm working raising the floor level... all this without help. He explained that on the first trip someone guided him saying 'right a bit , left' etc but after that he was fine.
