Apples from Tyningham

These apples are not just any apples, they are not even M&S apples, they are apples straight off the tree from Tyningham in East Lothian. I know this because it said so on the basket they were in in the little fruit and vegetable shop and I know how special they are because these three apples cost £1.19, almost 40p each which works out about 5p a bite. Not that I grudge that, well not really because they taste like apples used to in my childhood , not like the insipid ones readily available in the large stores. I will savour each one , perhaps eaten with crackers and cheese.

After yesterday’s exercise extravaganza, today was one of almost total inertia partially dictated by the horrible rainy, damp weather which propelled me to socialise with Porty daughter in the morning and then with the neighbours in the weekly TGIF meet up at 5pm.
There will be more inertia as I plonk myself in front of the TV with my knitting this evening even though the TV programmes are getting worse year on year.
