Getting there!!

Sewing day today!!! I haven’t done any at home this week, so needed a bit of a push to get started.

There was lots of chat amongst the ladies about their pending retirement pensions....how long they have to wait etc. All good natured, no complaints really. I sat quietly and listened....being older has its advantages at times.

There could have been much more contentious subjects to discuss.....!!!!
A piece of advice I was given by an elderly district nurse many years ago was, ‘not to discuss sex, politics or religion with the patients’. She knew her patients well and wanted to protect me from getting in to complex discussions with some of them!!! Advice I took to heart and it kept me out of trouble.
