Australian spring surprise
Well; finally we are home to our lovely house, our own bed (nothing beats that after 4 months travelling) and spring in our garden! Sad to leave fall in the USA, as we were to leave summer in Europe but this little pop of colour in the garden reminded us of Australia's beautiful spring. It is an Australian Grevillea. It was struggling a bit before we left but has decided to stay and thrive. The native honeyeaters just love these flowers and we are happy to have them visit us too. The second photo shows a piece of the back yard as you enter the gate - with the yellow Grevillea in the centre - such a welcome sight when we arrived home from the airport today.
