Blending In, Take 2

This Black-tailed Prairie Dog blends in almost as well as my Katydid from a few days ago.  There's a prairie dog town on open space land between Becky's house and mine so I stopped there for a quick blip.

I am grateful that Fang's surgery went well!  Once he was asleep, the vet got a better look at his upper eyelids and decided they were okay so he only needed the lower lids repaired.  Becky and I picked him up this afternoon and he was wearing a giant cone.  The vet said he needs to wear it until the sutures are removed in 10 days unless he is under constant supervision.  Thor is staying with us for at least the first few days.  It's going to be hard to keep them from their rough play....but we'll cross that bridge when we need to.  The good news is that his eyes are open so that means that it doesn't hurt to open them!  They look bloodshot and cloudy because of the corneal ulcers but they should clear up pretty quickly.  Thank you for all the well wishes yesterday!
