One Year On

A year has passed since we moved from Morrinton, Dumfries to Hellifield, North Yorkshire so we could be near the boat.

I'm sitting here in our cosy living room, book and knitting at hand, a film on the telly and feeling grateful for my life and all we have.

It's easy to forget the 6 months hard slog we had to turn this previously badly maintained house into the lovely wee home we have today.

Now we have friends and family North and South of the border.

Life isn't always plain sailing and we've certainly had our share of ups and downs but I believe in fate and someone up there looking out for me and mine.

Today I had a mammogram and ultrasound because I had a swelling under my arm but I'm happy to say it was all clear - just hormonal changes :-)
Recently quite a few of our friends have been diagnosed with life threatening illnesses and some have sadly died. This makes me all the more determined to make the best of my life.

Over the last week we've seen 4 of our wonderful Grandchildren - 2 in Dumfries and 2 in Martinstown, N. Ireland and tomorrow my daughter is coming down from Airdrie with another 2! They are all the joy of my life :-)

Happy days! We are indeed so lucky and I am beyond grateful! :-D
