Low tide

Hopes were high for a Scottish win in the RWC in Japan today. A typhoon nearly washed out the fixture. A poignant silence impeccably observed in memory of those whose lives were lost preceded the anthems. It was an enthralling game of rugby and Japan were the worthy winners.

Scotland’s National sporting blushes were spared by a football win at a rainy Hampden last night in their 6-9 win against San Marino.
