Have I been lucky?

I got in a frenzy when I discovered mushrooms half and three quarter hidden under the pine needles , partly growing still deep in the ground. I thought I had found Matsutake which taste really special and are quite precious.
But at home I discovered in the internet, that Matsutake not only look different but also have a ring with the rests of a veil, which none of these have. Too bad. I wish someone could tell me whether they are edible.
We enjoyed our little walk in the sun though! And me in particular a day without muscle pains and without pills. If anybody could only explain what is going on there. One day terrible, another day terrible and then -nothing...
