Misty morning
Woke up this morning on my overnight express train, we had reached the dizzying speed of 45k/hr, by this point and still another 8hrs to go. You can imagine my relief when we finally pulled into Da Nang station around 2pm and there was someone to meet me - organised by my new lovely hotel guy. Beautiful room and 2 minutes to the beach so it wasn’t long before I was in the warmest sea I have ever been in. So good. Private deck chair for a quick dry off and then a lift on said guys scooter to the tailors for some more appropriate lightweight clothing to get made. I was in a new kind of heaven. The city is beautiful, lanterns adorn every shop front, roads are a bit more crossable and it is teaming with tailor shops.
The hotel guy is so lovely, despite all my efforts to dissuade him he is coming back to take me to a restaurant where I am meeting the couple from Bristol I met in cat ba. It’s so nice to have people to eat with, it’s the one time that I find it hard being on my own and consequently, along with dodgy tummy, I feel sure I must have lost some weight. Having said that, not sure the tailors measurements support that theory.
