Canning Stock Route - Gunbarrel Highway

We barrelled along a good highway to Carnegie Station and beyond to the Gunbarrel Highway. Some highway! A track, no less. 

We had lunch at the immense Mungalilli Claypan but the wind gusts were so intense we had to shelter behind a dune, and duck out to see the scenery, as well as tuck into our super food. There was salmon, with capers & lettuce, in corn things for swaggie & me, wraps for the others.  We always eat well with Diamantina. There were hundreds of beautiful coolibah trees.

Some funny things do happen. Swagmate & I carried her swag over to our site, only to find that it was someone else's swag. So back it went, and we started again.

We're to have a BBQ tonight. Matty writes down our preferences and delivers, as ordered, wonderfully cooked organic steak from Tassie. Rare for me, please.
