Autumn

After the morning chores, I started on the garden, clearing some of the dying plants, and cutting back. This is from my geraniums, where the leaves are starting to turn. 

I haven't had much time for gardening over the years. But some of the plants I have put in have started to do really well. Some of the original roses, which would have been planted when the house was built, around 80 years ago, are struggling. I took the decision to cut some back quite heavily, with the view that they will either revive next year or die over winter. In which case I plant something else - or a new rose.
