PP Arnold. Amazing to think that she’s now 73 years old, but for her the last 5 decades seem to be something that happened to other people.
Heading up a band led by Steve Craddock (Ocean Colour Scene, Paul Weller, The Specials), she tore through songs from her excellent new album, plus classics from her back catalogue, including tunes from Steve Marriott, the Beatles & Sandy Denny.
When she finished the evening with The First Cut is the Deepest, the song Cat Stevens gave her in 1967 & she took into the UK top 20, I almost...almost...cried.
