Rainbow

There are a couple of routes that I take to work and, if I have time, my favourite of those is the slightly slower one that takes the road from Kirkby Lonsdale up to Oxenholme. It passes through some beautiful countryside and the views across the valley as you drive into Old Town are spectacular, especially on a sunny day like, today.

Except that the sunshine was punctuated by bursts of rain, which, happily, resulted in some really intense rainbows. I took this shot as I was sat waiting for the traffic lights to change, just as the rainbow was fading. I only saw when I looked at the photo afterwards that there was a cyclist who'd stopped to do the same thing.
