Family Fun!

hmmmm. Today was rather interesting. Started out on the wrong foot. I ended up spending a good part of the morning sleeping and resting. Partly didn't want to do anything else and partly, just really needed to rest and have some solitude. I dont' think i've gone back to sleep and slept like I did today for at least four years. It was overdue. However, I ended up having a head ache the rest of the day from too much sleep. argh. I hate that!

Josh and the kids had a lot of fun playing a whole bunch of different games today. The highlight was having pretend basketball practice downstairs. They have shooting practice, dribbling practice, run lines, passing practice and a scrimmage. It's a riot. and both kids enjoy it immensly!

Tonight, we had our first gathering for a family group we signed up for through our church. We get together once a month for a dinner gathering with a few different couples with kids around the same age as ours. Tonight was a country western theme and we had a wonderful meal of BBQ ribs, coleslaw, potato salad and a yummy cornbread casserole. We had a lot of fun meeting some new families too. The couple that hosted the night have a seven month old little girl and Mia was thrilled to touch her any chance she could get! There was also another little girl around Mia's age that the kids enjoyed playing with!

In true Ashcroft form, we arrived to our dinner party 20 minutes early and couldn't bring ourselves to show up that early, so we all hopped out, posed for this quick family portrait and made it 10 minutes early instead!
