West Macdonnells Camping trip - Standley Chasm
A spectacular geological formation, Standley Chasm is an easy walk from the campsite. It's best seen at midday, when the sun lights up the narrow cleft in the range - as you can see in the above image.
We visited some ochre cliffs on the way to the Chasm from Ormiston Gorge, where ochre is mined for medical and cultural uses. There's an image in Extras.
