Go large to see the accusatory finger. I liked the small human drama playing out below this monumental architecture.
To Málaga on the bus today. I wanted to buy an old person's discount card for Spanish railways -- you can't do this online, so I assumed I had to go to the station. At the bus station we bumped into Jackie, on her way to catch a train from Málaga to Seville for the weekend. "No need to go to Málaga. You can just buy one from the travel agent in Almuñecar," she told us. Oh well. It was a day out.
Unbelievably the card is only 6 euros, a simple over-the-counter purchase, and you get very significant discounts -- Jackie's return ticket to Seville was only 30 euros. Mission accomplished, we got a taxi from the station to tapas bar Uvedoble, which we have visited before. We shared delicious bacalao, the mini pizzas that were such a hit last time, and also excellent new potatoes with mojo picón, and scallops on a bed of roasted aubergine with cumin. Well worth a return visit!
Because of my foot problem I hadn't wanted to commit to any museum visiting, so we did a bit of aimless wandering punctuated by ice cream before getting the bus back. And then spoilt ourselves with a taxi home from the bus station -- I was tired, and it takes me so long to walk anywhere ... tiresome. Extra: an unusual living sculpture on the Calle Larios.
