I recently sold a camera only for it to be damaged during delivery. I always send equipment by an insured service but this was the first time I’ve had to make a claim. Thankfully the claim was successful and the cheque arrived today.

One thing I have learnt and didn’t know before is that the Royal Mail require you to clearly mark any items that can be damaged with ‘Handle with Care’. If you don’t it is grounds for invalidating your claim. Luckily I use tape marked with those words.

Now I just have to wait for Nikon to sort out the repair. They’ve already had the camera for a month and I’ve only just received the estimate.
