School trip

The eldest one’s primary school exists 90 years. To celebrate they took all 620 children to ‘the Efteling’, one of the best amusement parks in Europe, once even crowned best in the world. I was selected as a support-parent with the ‘honour’ of guiding a group of 4-to-6 year olds through a world of distractions, keeping them fed and safe, whilst trying not to lose any of them and still ensuring they had a great time. Glad we arrived in batches and I found a fellow parent so we could share the task, albeit for double the number of kids.

I’m now lying on our couch and can’t remember ever feeling so knackered...
