Ferry, 'cross the Fowey . . .
It was raining lightly from the start today, so we decided to take the car and look at some of the little harbours north of Mevagissy.
Charlestown was the first on the list, but as it was here that some of the filming of 'Poldark' took place it was stupidly expensive to explore the dock, ship and museum. We saw as much as we wanted without paying. The wonderful harbour and dock was spoilt by the red tent with 'Poldark gin' plastered over it. It reminded me of Harry Potter and Glenfinnan.
After more ramblings we ended up in the lovely little harbour town of Fowey. I much preferred this to Mevagissy. The streets are so narrow that pedestrians have to dive into doorways to let the cars past! My Blip today is of the ferry over the estuary of the River Fowey to Polruan.
Setting off towards home tomorrow.
