Thursday: Stop Motion Puppets
This afternoon I had one of those events that’s a little bit a perk of the job. I was invited out to UBC for lunch and was then given a private tour of the Museum of Anthropology’s current exhibition on puppets from around the world. It was absolutely fascinating and the curator, who is British, was so inspiringly knowledgeable. She was particularly pleased to show me the ‘Punch and Judy’ display.
This is one of the displays, showing stop motion puppets - namely puppets that are used for films where every single frame is hand crafted, positioned and photographed in order to make a short film. This is by a local indigenous artist and is from a movie called ‘Bidaaban’.
