Autumn Reflections

Dear Diary,

My little pond is looking quite lovely now.  I say, "my pond" but of course I don't own it.  Actually, in Maine, no one can own a pond.  You can own all the land surrounding a body of water but not the water itself if the pond is over 10 acres.   It is less than a mile from my house and since I spend one full year documenting it in every season and in every weather I feel a bit attached to it.  It may be a tiny pond, under 30 acres, but it does put on a nice show this time of year when the air is still and the surface becomes a mirror.
